Ariel's Voyage San Antonio Interview
Therapist offering compassionate counseling near you for emotional healing.

→ I’m an avid thrifter — retail therapy is real, but on a budget.

→ I balance my life with both true crime documentaries and cheesy romance novels.

→ Proud boy mom (to 2 boys) and wife.

→ Tortilla chips + queso = therapy for the soul.

→ Lady Gaga? Obsessed. #LittleMonster forever.

→ My cat (a.k.a. my only daughter) has a wardrobe and may crash your session.

→ I’m a 500-hr certified yoga teacher and sometimes weave yoga/meditation into therapy.

→ I occasionally bring astrology and moon cycles into sessions — only if it fits.

→ My bed is my happy place.

→ I go to therapy too, because practicing what I preach matters.

I grew up in a circus of dysfunction and now I help people untangle trauma patterns and reclaim nervous-system safety.

My work go to blend is:EMDR, DBT, TF-CBT, attachment therapy, somatic and mindfulness-based therapy, and 500-hour yoga training—because real change happens in both the mind and the body.

No platitudes. No spiritual bypassing. Just evidence-based work that helps you break cycles and to help you find real peace.

Working with me isn’t strictly clinical or stiff.

I’ll call out the BS, laugh with you about the mess, and give you tools that actually work.

Clients say it feels real, safe, and refreshingly honest.

  • “Ariel is a person-centered therapist at heart. She is able to consider an entire person rather than just the symptoms they are navigating. This makes her a phenomenal clinician and so comfortable to show up authentically around. Her strengths in working with grief, radical acceptance, and trauma make her a truly approachable therapist to do some of the most difficult work alongside.”

    Aryn Thompson, LCSW-S

  • “I had the privilege of working with Ariel in a residential treatment setting, where she demonstrated advanced clinical skills with clients experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. She applies a trauma-informed approach and integrates EMDR when clinically appropriate. Ariel facilitates psychodynamic groups with confidence, creating a safe and engaging environment for clients.”

    Edie C Jones-Newell, LCDC

  • “Ariel brings a rare blend of compassion and directness to her work. She creates a safe, empathetic space while also gently holding clients accountable in their growth. If you're seeking someone who truly shows up for you, Ariel is that therapist.”

    Ted Thao LPC-A, LCDC-I

  • “Ariel is one of the most authentic and genuine clinicians I know—what you see is what you get, and that’s exactly what makes her so effective. She doesn’t just listen passively; she truly shows up and engages in a way that creates meaningful connection and growth. Her clients are fortunate to have such a real and invested therapist in their corner. As a fellow therapist, I’m grateful to have her as a colleague in the field.”
